Best Video Game Console In The World
Due to globalization, marketing affiliate programs, business strategies and the need to acquire new business markets, the business of video games was evolved massively, basically throughout the early 90s where video games consoles started to boom in terms of sales numbers as well as in popularity.
When games video consoles like Atari, Video Pack and Nintendo were leading the market of video games, the market witnessed a new dimension of these game video consoles with the introduction of Sega to its multi models throughout the mid nineties. The Sega earned it major part of popularity and its larger market share with the Sega Mega Drive, and its newer version that’s based on CDs, the Sega Saturn. Sega Video Games offered a new dimension of graphics, sound effects and multitude of games (sports video games, war video games, racing video games…).
Nonetheless, video games business wasn’t to expand so wide without the contribution of Sony Playstation 1 that was introduced to the market for the purpose of beating all the competitors in the video games business. The Sony corporation supplied a full package that consisted on creating a compact video games console, based on CD video games and on a mixture of high graphical resolution plus sound effects that lead the Sony Playstation 1 video games to the top of the video gaming industry, mainly after signing contracts with EA Sports and Codemasters to supply their games (EA Sports NBA, EA Sports FIFA, EA sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour, Codemasters Tennis ATP Tour, EA SPORTS NFL…)
Nintendo video games had little to do through that era, counting on their experience in video games but Sony was swiftly gaining a bigger market share due to its marketing strategies and high amounts of money invested into video gaming consoles. If Nintendo had a chance to survive against the PS1 video games of Sony, the Sony Playstation 2 video games did the job! PS2 expanded massively, becoming the most popular video game in the world after the new millennium. Thanks to its slim shape, wireless features and saving memories, the PS2 video games became the best selling video game in the world until couple of years ago.
The Video Games market has evolved since the domination of Sony PS2; the playstation 2 was faced by Microsoft Xbox video games console, mainly based on a Pentium 3 system and a VGA card that supports high resolution games for a better visual effect. As the market got more competitive, Xbox 360 and Playstation3 marked the world with exceptional, never-seen before, unbelievable visual ties for the players to enjoy. When both, Playstation 3 video games and Xbox 360 video games looked like the only arcade games and home consoles, a new competitor tackled the video games market. This time, it was Wii video games!
The Wii goes beyond the normal video games philosophy that consists on using a game pad or joystick; Wii takes every player into a virtual world, putting that player into the game itself. Every move you make is translated into a move in the Wii video game.
The blasting news enclosed the attachment between video games and online video games where each and every player can display his or her playing skills online; internet games added an international value to these games that are competed all over the world.
Either a fan of Wii video games, Playstation 3 video games, Xbox games, we think that what was known as kids games is currently designated to reach all ages!
With major video games corporations tackling every type of sport, NFL fans, NHL, NBA, MLB, WRC, F1, Golf PGA tour, NASCAR, Tennis ATP, Soccer, Football are all available for every player who’s seeking Nintendo video games, xbox 360 video games or Playstation games. Wii is currently occupying a new level of technology, awaiting a serious competitor to knock it out, knowing that the video games industry is an unstable business.

Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa Las Vegas
The Red Rock in Las Vegas was originally built as a "local's casino." They spent $950 million on its construction. Despite the "local" billing it received, it's really an upscale casino for anyone. If you are coming to Las Vegas, you'll want to put it on your list of places to visit.
I was fortunate enough to enjoy Red Rock before it was open to the general public. I was immediately impressed. I knew it would be something special.Once the general public got a taste, the city was abuzz with compliments and excitement. It wasn't your average local's casino; the Red Rock was upscale all the way.
Dining at the Red Rock
The Red Rock has many dining optionsfrom quick food to the premier steakhouse. If you are looking for a quick bite to eat, you can enjoy Fat Burger, Panda Express and other great fast food type options. There's also a Starbucks inside to top it off.
I could write a series of articles just on the dining. The buffet at the Red Rock is a little pricey, but it's good. I've eaten there for dinner, and I wasn't disappointed. If you love Mexican food, give the Cabo Mexican Restaurant a try. The Grand Café is a nice coffee shop type dining option. The T-Bones Chophouse is excellent as well.
Entertainment
The Red Rock is home to the Cherry Nightclub. It's a place to be seen and is always packed. The Red Rock also features concerts in various areas around the property. Last month Big Bad Voodoo Daddy performed in an intimate setting. The talented nightclub act Zowie Bowie performs weekly on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
For the kids, the Red Rock has a full movie theater and a Kid's Quest. There's something for everyone.
Location
The Red Rock was built in Summerlin, which is the best community in Las Vegas. It's upscale and that's why the Red Rock was built the way it was. If you valet your vehicle, it's commonplace to see high priced vehicles parked thereBentley, Aston Martin, and so on. It's conveniently located off I-215, so you can get there in a flash from the Las Vegas Strip.
I don't think a trip to Vegas is complete without visiting the Red Rock. It's just a great place to be at. The next time you are in Las Vegas, check it out.

Deathtrap Dungeon

Dungeons & Dragons: Castle Ravenloft Board Game Review
You are a brave adventurer, and your group is on a quest that requires you to venture into Dungeons & Dragons: Castle Ravenloft. It is the dreaded home of Strahd von Zarovich, an evil and powerful vampire. Do you have what it takes to work together and survive this deathtrap? Be a fighter, rogue, cleric, wizard or ranger. Use your abilities and spells, and work together with your fellow adventurers to defeat Strahd and his minions in this strategy adventure board game.
Castle Ravenloft is a board game based on Dungeons and Dragons (D&D), the original fantasy role-playing game. D&D is a pen-and-paper style of gaming first published in the 1970's that differed from the then popular tabletop war games. A dungeon master designs and facilitates adventures while the other players experience these adventures as a group of fighters, mages, rogues and a whole host of other character classes. What made the game special was that there were rules to facilitate combat as well as non-combat encounters, bringing the 'adventure' to the gaming table. The players actually lived and breathed their characters that grew over time.
More specifically, the characters and setting in the Castle Ravenloft board game is based on D&D's Ravenloft adventure module that revolves around Strahd von Zarovich, an evil vampire who pines for a lost love. This module and its setting has been so popular that it spawned a few D&D campaigns and worlds, a series of computer games, and now a board game as well. The board game uses the encounter rules from D&D 4th Edition, the 4th iteration of the D&D rulesets and manuals. This version of D&D focuses more on character placement on grids and tiles, making it more like a tabletop miniature game and very suitable to be turned into a board game.
The story and setting of the board game revolve around the vampire Strahd and his home in Castle Ravenloft. The players take on the role of a group of adventurers entering the castle with the ultimate goal of killing Strahd. However, there are many scenarios that you play through before getting to meet the dreaded vampire, each of which can take around an hour or more to complete. Your newly-formed party might start your adventuring career by recovering magical treasure from the castle dungeons, then working your way up to killing a cunning goblin sorcerer, then a dragon, then Strahd himself. Each scenario will have its own special rules and goals, with end bosses and other monsters you must fight.
In the D&D role-playing game, there is a player who has to take on the role of dungeon master and control the monsters, dungeon design and how the adventure progresses. In Castle Ravenloft, this is not necessary and everyone is able to play as part of the adventuring team. This is possible via an interesting mechanic where things pop up pretty much randomly.
During each player's turn, they have a choice of exploring a new room in the dungeon. This is done by taking a random tile from a draw deck and placing it on an unexplored edge of the map. This may reveal a new monster (again drawn randomly from a deck) and an encounter effect (you guessed it: randomly from a deck). These encounter effects cover everything from traps that you stumble on, to events such as a goblin seeing your group and running off to get help. In effect, the map and the flavor of the dungeon are able to grow organically without the need for someone to control them.
The dungeon isn't the main focus of the game though. It's an adventure game, and the focus is you (or the characters you play, to be more accurate). There are 5 characters you can play: fighter, rogue, ranger, wizard, cleric. Each character has their own unique powers and flavor. The fighter is a close-range melee defender whose job is to protect the rest of the party. The rogue is a close-range melee striker who uses daggers to devastating effect. The ranger attacks her enemies from afar using her bow. The wizard uses arcane magic to damage and control the enemy, while the cleric uses divine magic to protect and heal the party. Whichever class you decide to play, you will be able to customize their powers to create your ideal character.
Whenever there are monsters to fight (which is almost always), the player characters and monsters are represented using miniatures on a grid map composed of the random map tiles. D&D 4th Edition rules are used for these encounters. The rules aren't very complex, and basically dictate what actions, attacks and moves you can make each turn. Most of the time, dice are rolled to see if your attacks hit and how much damage they do. Your objective during these encounters is pretty straightforward: kill the monsters and claim their treasure! After a few of these encounters, your character may even increase in level, earning you higher stats and more powers to use.
Castle Ravenloft is an exciting adventure game that also includes a fair amount of tactical maneuvering. You will feel a sense of achievement as your party slowly works its way from the easy treasure-hunting scenarios to the final scenario where you face off against Strahd. However, you don't have to worry that the game does not have replay value. Due to how the dungeons and events are set up so randomly, no two games will ever be the same.
Castle Ravenloft is a fun game for players who like cooperative games or wish to immerse themselves in a high-fantasy adventure. It can also be used as a way to try out D&D and see if you will like playing the actual D&D role-playing game. You will enjoy Dungeons & Dragons: Castle Ravenloft if you like dungeon-crawl adventure games like Heroquest or cooperative games such as Battlestar Galactica.

Deathtrap Dungeon Playthrough Part 1
Taz Mania

This Devil is Kind of Cute
Down in Tasmania, beady little eyes watch you, eyes of a devil, the Tasmanian devil that is. Tasmania is the only known habitat for this little creature. Tasmania is an island separated from Australia by the Bass Strait (a channel running 80 –150 miles long). It’s a mountain island similar to Australia; its climate changes moderately. This is probably why the creatures have inhabited it for well over hundreds of years. This little guy is no bigger than the family pet, but not always as sweet and a tad bit more muscular. They possess a strong jaw and are black in color with some white spotting towards the backside. They have an odor that can rival a skunk when they feel pressured.
For a small guy, the little devil picks on large prey such as Lizards and Kangaroos. Those inhabitants of Tasmania like to hide up in the hills and are generally loners, but sometimes dine with others. They are excellent night hunters and they are known to hold fat in their tail and one can tell it by the thickness of their tail, if ill. Hunters and farmers protecting their farm animals are the main cause of their death of late, not to mention a fast spreading cancer that has aided in their demise. Their average life expectancy is about six years. Those that remain in Tasmania are part of what is considered to be the only meat-eating marsupials around today.
The mating season in Tasmania is generally in the spring. The female is most fertile when reaching about two years of age. The male devils battle for the right to be with the female, who usually chooses the victor. If the male is not careful the female will wonder off after mating, so one should keep his eye out on his prize.
The lucky female will give birth to about 30 tots. The young, like the males will battle for the mother’s pouch, as there is only room for about four at a time. With age the pouch will shrink, so some younglings have it tougher than others finding a place to feed. Once settled in the pouch they will nestle there for about 100 days, feeding from the female’s nipple.
The devil, which has become a symbol for Australia, Tasmania to be exact, is honored in many different ways. National Parks use the devil as symbols as well have some sports teams and it’s even imprinted on an Australian coin. Literature and film have taken a liking to the furry imp; as well as it is the subject to many tours in Tasmania, as well as Australia. Perhaps Tasmania was put on the map with the creation of Warner Brother’s Tasmanian devil, Taz, a hot-tempered little bugger. He was so popular that in the early 90’s he received his own TV show called “Taz-Mania”. Not bad for a little critter found in the land down under, more commonly known as Australia, or to the devil, Tasmania.

Do you think Taz should of won the hardcore title at wrestle mania 2000?
now i know it was 10 years ago but it still bothers me to this day. at wrestle mania 2000 it was a 15 man battle royal for the hardcore title. Crash holly was the champion at the time and taz was destined to be champ as well as his uncle Hardcore Holly, well the stipulation of the match was to win the belt and keep it for the remaining 15 min. well as soon as the match started taz grabs crash and tazplexes him, pins him and wins the belt. well as you know there are 14 other hungry competitors so everyone is going after taz. well to go on with the story. taz wins the belt once more. now if you have wrestle mania 2000 on dvd slow this part down. if you watch closely as the ref is counting down. once he gets to like 2 and 2/3 taz kicks out...and the ref still gave the belt to crash... when i was watching that i was pissed... you could hear me inside my house going "WHAT THE F! IS THIS!" but for all wrestling what do you think?
I wish Taz could have had surgery and rehabilitation and wrestle for and won the WWF World Heavyweight Title. Taz was one of the greatest wrestlers in the world when he wrestled for ECW.

Other Catgories of Doom Metal
There have been other sub groups of doom metal. Some have a small twist from the original and some are mixed with other metal genres. Here is a small list of the other categories you can find in doom metal.
Traditional Metal
This is where doom metal all began. The 1990s was the starting point of doom metal evolution. Where most new and old bands fall into this category. Doom metal that has heavy distortion and a slower tempo with heavy distortion is usually falls in the Traditional sub genre. This style of doom metal often has growls, clean singing and screams. Bands that fall into this genre is Ogre, Reverend Bizarre and Witchcraft.
Epic Doom Metal
Epic is quite close to Traditional metal. The style of singing is what alters the two. You'll find more clean singing vocals in Epic. Included bands within this group are Solstice, Solitude Aeturnus, Candlemass and Doomsword.
Doom Metal - Stoner
Psychedelic Metal can be another term for this sub genre. Why you might ask, because it has psychedelic styles into the music. Loading up on guitar effects and bass, this style is really a bit different than typical doom metal. Usual guitar effects is going to be fuzz, phaser and flanger. Using effects and guitar pedals was initially used in doom metal by Stoner bands.
For quite a few examples of Stoner metal bands check out Acid King, Electric Wizard, Sons of Otis, Sleep and KyussElectric Wizard, Acid King, Kyuss, Sleep and Sons of Otis are a few of the popular stoner metal bands.
Sludge
Mix southern rock, metal and hardcore punk and you will probably come out with sludge. This kind of music incorporates a fast tempo. Sludge metal has more double bass drum beats plus more of a raw distortion sound guitar. Singing about drugs, politics and society gives you a preview on what Sludge metal is all about.
To find out more on Sludge metal have a look at these bands: Acid Bath, Crowbar, Eyehategod and Grief.
Death
Putting together some really heavy distortion and slow tempos gives you much more of a death metal feel. Deep growling voices and snarls within the vocals is the biggest distinctions you will discover in this style. With an increase of double bass drumming than typical doom metal. Most bands that belong to this category were influenced by Celtic Frost and Hellhammer.
To find out more tune in to Autopsy, Asphyx, Winter, Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride.
Doom Metal - Black
Black or Blackened is a style that combines the worlds of doom metal and black metal. You will see a lot of high pitched scream with a huge amount of raw distortion. Full of dirty distortion along with a slow pace is common in Black metal. To learn more about Black Doom look into Gallhammer, Nortt, Ajattara and Dolorian.
Doom Metal Grows
The above mentioned of a few of the other sub groups of doom metal. There are even a lot more than these. Even today you will discover new bands and it rising. Doom metal isn't in the public eye as much as it was, but it won't die.

ColecoVision to iPhone Games 31
In this ongoing look at significant moments in the history of video game design, we have already taken a look at Nintendo's Kid Icarus, Bethesda's Fallout 3, Valve Software's Half-Life 2 and several others. The goal of this series is to go beyond simple gaming magazines and iPhone Apps, and take a closer look at what defines memorability and quality in game design. In this thirty-first part of the series we will examine some more of those classic moments where video game designers undoubtedly got it right and delivered a memorable, enduring and progressive gaming experience.
Donkey Kong – This is the game where Mario was introduced to the world, where the giant gorilla Donkey Kong made his first appearance and it was the first entry in a series that has endured for almost thirty years. Donkey Kong, on the surface, is quite a simple game. The bad guy (gorilla) has captured the girl, and it is the job of a simple plumber to get her back. Playing as Mario, the player must ascend a series of floors until they reach the top of the level, at which time Donkey Kong grabs the girl, climbs up, and the player must start over again. During this ascent the player will have to overcome barrels being rolled at him by Kong, navigate various lifts, and use power-ups to their advantage. A game with no actual ending, Donkey Kong is considered to be finished when the player reaches the ‘kill screen,' which is the point at which the game runs out of levels and simply locks up, essentially killing the game, and the player along with it.
Donkey Kong was one of the most popular arcade games of the 1980s, with cabinets being found in nearly every arcade, as well as most secondary locations such as pizza parlors, ice cream shops and convenient stores. Nearly everyone has played at least one game of Donkey Kong at some point in their life, and the characters in the game have gone onto become some of the most recognizable, not only in video game culture, but all of pop culture. The game enjoyed a recent resurgence in popularity thanks to the release of the documentary ‘The King of Kong.' In this movie a man named Steve Wiebe chases after the Donkey Kong high score set by video game legend, Billy Mitchell. Why has this game endured for so many years? Why are people still chasing after the record scores? And how did this game that appears so simple on the surface, become the ultimate challenge for gamers everywhere?
The answer to all of these questions is the same. Donkey Kong is a simple, fun, addictive game that anyone can play and immediately enjoy. The game starts off simple, and gradually escalates in difficulty to the point that it challenges even the most skilled game players. Where many games offered a large amount of buttons, a significant time investment, or an abstract challenge, Donkey Kong merely challenged the player to climb. For being such a simple game that provided fun to all who played, introduced the world to two of the most beloved characters of all time, and continues to excite gamers worldwide, Donkey Kong demands its place alongside the greatest games of all time.
