K. M. Munshi founded Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in 1938 with the blessings of Mahatma Gandhi and he was the first Kulpati of the same. Munshiji not only dreamed of a resurgent India he also felt the need to work towards it. This resulted in the founding of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. In the memeories of Late Shri Munshiji, Gujarati Sahitya Sangam awards remarkable Gujarati Author like Harilal Upadhyay and others with "Kanaiyalal Munshi Award" (Ref: http://harilalupadhyay.org/achievements.php).  Indian Post have printed a postal stamp on. 30/12/1988 which was of denomination of 60 paise (0.60 INR). 10 Tips for Booking Entertainment for a Corporate Event

There are literally thousands of excellent, good, and down right horrible corporate entertainers available. This list will give you some advice on how to narrow down your search and find entertainment that will help make your event a success!

#10 - PLAN EARLY. The most popular corporate entertainers book up very quickly for popular dates. During the corporate holiday party season (Nov-Jan), entertainers can begin to book up over a year in advance. Avoid disappointment and start looking for entertainment as soon as you know the date of your corporate event.

#9 - KNOW WHAT YOU WANT (AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, WHAT YOUR AUDIENCE WANTS). You can make your search for an entertainer easier if you have an idea of the type of entertainment that would work well for your group. Popular corporate entertainment includes:

COMEDY - Comedy acts can be a great way to get your group laughing together. Comedy acts don't have to be just stand-up comedians. Many corporate comedy acts blend magic, juggling, or other variety performances into their comedy show. This variety helps insure that there is something for everyone in the performance.

No matter what type of comedy act your choose, be sure that the comedy is going to be appropriate for your group. Many comedians have different ideas on what "clean comedy" is, so be sure to ask for a demo video to preview the show (see #1 below!)

MUSIC - Many headline singers and bands are available for corporate events.

MAGIC - There are many different styles of corporate magicians and corporate magic shows. Some magicians offer strolling magic (going table to table at your event), some perform large illusion show with special effects and a cast of dancers, others specialize in comedy magic that gets your audience laughing in involved. Whatever styles of corporate entertainment you are looking for, be sure to find a magician who specializes in only that style. There are magicians you will tell you that they do everything - illusions, comedy, strolling, but that is because they are not proficient at any specific style, so all their shows are usually only mediocre. For the best possible show, hire a professional corporate magician who specializes in one style of magic. These performers will be the best in their field in illusion, comedy, or sleight-of-hand because that is all they do.

HYPNOSIS - Hypnotists can be great for the right group. Hypnotist shows are very interactive and require a very outgoing and uninhibited group to really be successful.

#8 - BOOK DIRECTLY WITH THE ENTERTAINER TO SAVE MONEY AND HEADACHES. If you book your corporate entertainment directly through the entertainer, you will save money on entertainment. Most corporate entertainment agencies add an additional 15-35% to an entertainer's fee. By booking a corporate entertainer direct, you also have the convenience of being able to talk with the entertainer (or their office staff) about any questions or concerns. Most corporate entertainment agencies will not let you talk with the entertainer until the day of the show. By booking direct, you can be guaranteed that there are no miscommunications about the performance. You can find direct contact information for entertainers by doing an internet search for "corporate entertainers", "california comedian", etc.

#7 - PLAN A REALISTIC BUDGET. The old adage, "you get what you pay for", applies to entertainment as well. The entertainment is not a place to save a few dollars. You would never cut corners on the food you would feed your guests, and should never cut corners on the entertainment. Bad entertainment can ruin an event just as quickly as bad food. You are not going to be able to get a GOOD quality corporate entertainer to do a show for $400. Fees for a TOP QUALITY, professional corporate entertainer will range from $1500 - $100,000 + depending on the size of the show and the performer's experience and reputation.

#6 - KNOW THE PERFORMER'S EXPERIENCE. You want a corporate entertainer who primarily entertainers for corporate audiences. Don't be afraid to ask questions... Is the performer a full-time entertainer? Have they performed at events like yours in the past? Do they have letters of recommendation and reviews from past clients for you to read?

#5 - IF YOU HAVE A SPECIAL REQUEST....ASK! Many entertainers are happy to customize part of their performance for your event. If you have a special request in mind, be sure to discuss this with the performer at the time of booking.

#4 - DISCUSS SET-UP REQUIREMENTS BEFORE BOOKING. Set-up need for entertainers vary greatly. Some can perform in the corner of a room with just a microphone, some need a minimum stage area and special sound and lighting equipment. Be sure that your venue will be able to meet your entertainer's set-up needs prior to booking.

#3 - LEAVE YOUR GUESTS WANTING MORE. 90 minutes of entertainment may sound like a great idea when you are planning your corporate event, but most audiences do not want to sit through a 90 minute show. A longer show does NOT equal better show. Even the TOP comedians and entertainers in the WORLD (Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, etc) only perform 60-75 minute shows. Professional entertainers and corporate event planners agree that a good length for most corporate live entertainment is 35-50 minutes. It is always better to leave your audience excited and wanting more...rather than having them get tired and start looking at the watch.

#2- KNOW WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE FEE. There are travel expenses associated with hiring national entertainers for your corporate party. Many entertainers include the travel expenses into their performance fee and for some travel will be an additional expense. Be sure to know what is included in the fee you are quoted to avoid any unexpected (and potentially expensive!) surprises.

#1 - MOST IMPORTANTLY - ALWAYS ASK TO SEE A DEMO VIDEO. A demo video is the only way you can truly judge whether a corporate entertainer will be right for your company party. The demo video should be short highlights of the segments of an entertainer's show. The video should be filmed in front of a live audience so you can see how a real audience reacts to the show. If an entertainer's video is nothing but split-second clips and flashy graphics set to music, then they are probably trying to cover for an inadequate performance - or worse, it could mean that they have NEVER even performed in front of a real audience.

PlayStation 3 320GB System with PlayStation Move Bundle Review

My original 60GB PS3 (bought at launch) died thus i used to be forced to get a brand new console. I reluctantly went with this bundle w/ the Move starter kit included. i used to be a lot of curious about the larger onerous drive, and figured I might sell the additional stuff if required.

The console itself is very quiet compared to my previous PS3. I will barely hear the fan once watching a Blu-Ray movie for a handful of hours. the sole factor that i do not like concerning the recreate of the PS3 is that the restricted range of USB ports. There are solely a pair of total, that are located on the front. it'd are nice to own a minimum of one on the rear of the console, for permanent attachments just like the PS3 eye camera that's needed for Move functionality. sadly, this accessory should connect with the front of the system and could be a little bit of an eye fixed sore for my home theater set-up. however not an enormous deal.

I was pleasantly shocked with the Move motion management system. I actually have a Wii, however am positively not an enormous fan of motion management. i'm a lot of of a "core" gamer because the the "big three" have labled me, and motion management is a lot of gimmick than substance in my opinion. The Wii invariably feels very "floaty" when navigating the menu system, and not as resposive because it must be for gameplay. I actually have the motion management and accent that supposedly was a fix for this, however I did not very notice any improvement in the least. The Move could be a 100 percent improvement over the WiiMote motion management. Is it revolutionary, or as massive as Sony would have you ever believe, nope. it's but, far more reponsive to navigate through game menus, and supply a lot of correct movement throughout gameplay, absolutely. it's conjointly far more enjoyable to own motion management games with HD graphics. I actually have played the disc golf and archery mini games that are included with the sports game, and was shocked with what quantity fun they really are. i'll be currently using the Move system for any family/party motion management games. The improved responsivness and HD graphics give a far higher expertise over the Wii.

I have a nintendo ds lite. I want to buy the sims 2 game, but i noticed it is available for ds or gameboy adv. Does it matter which game type i get? Is one better than the other?

i would recommend u get the DS one because it has more features also the touch screen makes sims really easy witht the game boy game you have to use the + buttons and it takes too much game time away so its simpler and faster with the DS version

Subaru is for many the epitome of the driving experience, from reliability to comfort and handling; it is a prime example of quality Japanese car manufacturing. But do you know how the brand came to be a leading force in the global car industry? This brief guide to the history of Subaru will equip you with all the facts to understand this popular motor brand.

The foundations of the company were laid when the Japanese company Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI) began as The Aircraft Research Laboratory in 1917. Chikuhei Nakajima led developments and in 1932 he became the key figure, changing the company name to the Nakajima Aircraft Company. With the onset of World War II the focus for production was on aircraft and following the war it became the Fuji Sangyo Co. Ltd. setting about production of the Fuji Rabbit scooter using spare aircraft machinery. The company later diversified, splitting off into various different companies such as the Fuji Jidosha specialising in coach building, the Omiya Fuji Kogyo who made engines, the Fuji Kogyo which built scooters and chassis makers Utsunomiya Sharyo who later joined forces with Tokyo Fuji Dangyo trading corporation.

The emphasis was then put on the manufacturing of automobiles and development was pushed ahead by Kenji Kita, the CEO of Fuji Heavy Industries which grew from the merger of Utsunomiya Sharyo and Tokyo Fuji Dangyo. The name ‘Subaru' was chosen for the car producing branch and takes its name from the Japanese word for the Pleiades star group, featured on its present logo. The first car to be designed under the name was the Subaru 1500 and so began a worldwide demand for the brand. Models such as the Sambar, the Rex, the Leone, the Impreza, the Tribeca and the Exiga were released onto the consumer and the Subaru vehicle has been a mainstay ever since.

A number of their models have made their way into motorsports with the Impreza WRX and the WRX STi making successful headway in rally sports, with drivers such as Colin McRae winning the World Rally Championships in their vehicles.

Subaru have always marketed their cars creatively and insist that their designs offer "uncommon sense" that set their models apart from other competitors. Despite facing some setbacks as a result of the global economic crisis, the Japanese manufacturer is looking towards a brighter future and will be releasing their new FT-86 Concept vehicle in 2011.

Sherlock Holmes Movie A Ritchie Hit?

Having always been something of a purist when it comes to Sherlock Holmes, I was somewhat wary before watching the new Sherlock Holmes movie by Guy Ritchie. I had seen one or two reviews, and by and large they were unfavourable. So I just had to see it for myself.

As Ritchie's first big budget ($90million) movie he is surely looking for a box-office smash. As a terrific fan of the early Sherlock Holmes movies, particularly those starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. Also a great admirer of the Jeremy Brett TV series, this film was something of a revelation.

Guy Ritchie has certainly put his own stamp on the character, not only Sherlock Holmes, played by Robert Downey Jr. but also that of Dr. John Watson (Jude Law). Personally, having read all the stories by Arthur Conan Doyle many times, I rather think that this characterisation of Watson is much more as the author intended.

Doyle never envisaged Watson as an affable, chubby buffoon. He was written as an Afghan war veteran, strong and thin, and expert with a revolver. Much more in fact as he is portrayed in this film. It would seem that Guy Ritchie has actually read some Sherlock Holmes and got it pretty much right. Downey's Sherlock Holmes is gritty and wonderfully played.

The story centres around the character of Lord Blackwood (played by Mark Strong) who has been doing a Jack-The-Ripper impression, killing young ladies. However he is not your common or garden serial killer, having delusions of world domination involving the black arts.

There is lots more action in this film than any other Sherlock Holmes that I have seen. It works well here. Downey's bare knuckle fight scene is excellent, if a bit spacey at times, and I loved the scene where Watson smacks Holmes on the nose when he gets objectionable over Watson's engagement and pending marriage to Mary Morstan (Kelly Reilly).

The female interest is added to by the inclusion of the character of Irene Adler, a pretty much throwaway character as written by Doyle, but given much more prominence here as the ex girl (lady) friend of Sherlock Holmes. Played by Rachel McAdams, she has a a fairly major role working for a inscrutable employer who apparently wants Holmes to investigate the murder of a chemist who is connected somehow to the resurrected Lord Blackwood.

The final scenes, played out on the almost completed Tower Bridge, are worthy of any Bruce Willis or Stevan Segal action-thriller. Much to my surprise I thoroughly enjoyed this latest Sherlock Holmes film, and I think Guy Ritchie has finally got his blockbuster.
