College Basketball Recruiting - Are You Doing The Right Things To Get Recruited?
The college basketball recruiting process is often misunderstood by high school basketball players trying to make it to the next level of competition. Most athletes are trying the same old methods to try and get on the radar of college coaches and finally receive some recruiting attention.
Do you know what they say about doing the same old things and expecting different results? I think they call it stupidity. Please don't be offended by that statement, I had my son doing the same things I'll mention below until I learned they really don't work. I guess you could say it's more "ignorance of the truth rather" than stupidity.
Here is a look at the common things athletes and their families do to get recruited that don't work for most athletes:
1) Playing AAU/USSSA Basketball Tournaments
First of all, you should be playing AAU or USSSA basketball if you want to make it to the next level of basketball. These tournaments allow you to play against some of the best players in the country, and they allow you the opportunity to really improve your game.
However, playing in these tournaments to get recruited is not a good strategy. Coaches are simply not at these events and even if they are at a sanctioned event, they are usually there to see one player. Everyone else who is there gets ignored for the most part.
2) Showcase Events
First of all, there are two types of showcase events. The first type is the true invitation only blue-chip or elite level events such as the Nike and Adidas events. Only the best in the country attend these events and only a select few players are invited. If you are invited to one of these events, by all means...get there!
The second type of showcase event is the "pay to play" events. These events are run by organizers who are really doing one thing...making a few extra dollars. These events are attended by any athlete who can pay the entry fee and therefore the quality of play is not that high. If these events are sanctioned for coaches to attend, the amount of coaches there is very small.
These events are okay to attend if you want to evaluate yourself against other players and get a few good tips. However, these type of events won't really help you in the college basketball recruiting process.
3) Registering With An Online Recruiting Site
These sites offer you the chance to describe yourself and your achievements online and you can also load some photos and maybe even video of yourself in action. These sites promise college coaches will be visiting the site often to find prospective players for their programs. Although that may happen sometimes, it is rare. Coaches simply don't visit these sites for the most part.
You can use these sites as a part of you overall recruiting efforts but in a differnet way. You can send coaches to your online profile after you make direct contact with them...as I'll describe in the summary section of this article.
4) Relying On On-Court Accomplishments
Some players rely completely on their on court accomplishments in high school to get recruited. Now, if you are Michael Jordan or Kevin Durant and your on court accomplishments get the attention of everyone, this strategy may work. However, for most players trying to get recruited for some level of college basketball, this strategy simply does not work very effectively.
5) Relying On Their High School Coach
Many basketball players simply rely on their high school coach to make sure they get recruited. Some coaches will promote their best players to college coaches, but most do not. Most high school coaches either don't understand the recruiting process themselves or they simply don't want to get involved.
Summary
Those are the top five things that athletes do to get recruited that simply don't work for the most part. These strategies leave most athletes frustrated and burned out with the college basketball recruiting process.
What does work and what should you be doing is this: Marketing and promoting yourself to college coaches. You need to take control of your own recruitment and not rely on anyone else to make it happen for you.
You can market and promote yourself very easily by sending your basketball resume and a personal letter to college coaches. As mentioned above, you can also use your letter to send the coach to your online recruiting profile where they can read more about you and even look at photos or video.
College basketball is a great sport. If you have the talent and skills to play at the next level, you can make it happen by taking control of your own recruitment.

1985 Super Bowl a classic battle between Joe Montana, Dan Marino
The 1985 Super Bowl was one of the great Super Bowls that featured two of the greatest players of all time. The teams involved in the game were the Miami Dolphins and the San Francisco 49ers. These teams were led by two of the best quarterbacks that the NFL has ever seen. The Dolphins were led by Dan Marino and the 49ers were led by Joe Montana.
The game was played in Stanford Stadium in Palo Alto, California. This meant that the 49ers would have somewhat of a home field advantage in the game as they were playing within their home state. The 49ers were the 3.5 point favorites entering into the game.
The Dolphins started things off the right way as they managed to jump ahead for a 3 point lead early in the game. Uwe von Schamann booted in a 37 yard field goal to give Miami the 3 point advantage.
The 49ers responded as Joe Montana orchestrated a touchdown drive. The drive was finished with a 33 yard touchdown pass from Montana to Carl Monroe. The score put the 49ers ahead 7-3 in the game.
The Dolphins were still hanging tough as Dan Marino responded to the touchdown from the 49ers. Marino threw a 2 yard touchdown pass to Dan Johnson to give the Dolphins the 10-7 lead at the end of the 1st quarter of play.
While the Dolphins were ahead after the 2nd quarter, they were doomed for defeat. The Dolphins did manage to score twice more over the course of the game, but the touchdown that they scored in the 1st quarter was the only touchdown that they would manage to put on the board during this Super Bowl.
The 49ers responded as Roger Craig and Joe Montana took over the rest of the game. Montana and Craig managed to hook up for 2 touchdowns over the course of the 2nd and 3rd quarters. The first touchdown was an 8 yard pass and the 2nd was a 16 yard pass.
Both of these players also managed to run the ball into the end zone. Montana had the first rushing touchdown of the game for the 49ers as he scrambled 6 yards for the score. Roger Craig also found his way into the end zone from 2 yards out. The only other score for the 49ers came on a 27 yard field goal from Ray Wersching in the 3rd quarter.
At the end of the 3rd quarter the score of the game was 38-16. There were no more points scored for the remainder of the game and the 49ers were Super Bowl Champions as they defeated the Dolphins in dominating fashion.
Joe Montana was named the MVP of the game. He threw for 3 touchdowns and ran in another touchdown to lead the way for the San Francisco 49ers. With this Super Bowl victory Joe Montana was on his way to becoming a player that is widely considered to be one of the greatest players to ever play the game.

it is the 16 th hole at cypress point golf course . defiantly when combined with the 15th hole the most incredible 2 holes of golf any were. the hole is 233 yards across the Pacific ocean . course was used in the crosby taken off rotation . defiantly the 16th hole . part 15th bottom right hand corner

This is totally wrong! No doubt hot coffee is a warm brewed coffee, there is however a method to ensure it is made correctly, a method that may be different from the way in which a hot coffee is brewed.
Producing Iced Coffee The initial Way
Iced coffee actually refers to a vintage method of generating cold coffee. Warm coffees are hot-brewed, yet if you want to make this drink the way in which it was made when it was started, then you have to cold-brew the actual coffee. Yes, that is correct - You do not need to be able to heat coffee if you need to make a hot coffee. There are a chill process coffee techniques available in the market that do not require electricity. All you need is a unique pot, cold normal water, and coarsely grounded coffee beans!
Merely pour the cool water in the particular pot and stir in the coarsely grounded coffee beans. What is going to happen is that the cool water will draw out the coffee flavours but will not draw out the bitter substances and the oily oils that are contained in the beans. Consequently the iced drink, which is produced, will have a lesser amount of acid content than it would also have if it had been hot-made. Coffee made that way was originally named iced coffee. This process was invented in 1962 by a compound engineer, Todd Simpson, and his business is still around right now (It's called Toddy Products).
Iced Espresso: Tips And Tricks
Here are some tips and tricks that will enhance your hot coffee experience:
