The Browns may have off this Sunday, but they are still making headlines. According to a ESPN.com report by Adam Schefter, Randy Lerner is reaching out to former Packers and Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren.
"Holmgren is itching to return to football and the opportunity he would have in Cleveland would be an attractive one," Schefter wrote. "Lerner is looking for someone to perform for the Browns the same role that Vice President of Football Operations Bill Parcells performs for the Dolphins. The job, for the time being, is Holmgren's to lose."
Full story here.
Holmgren coached the Packers from 1992-98 and led the team to the Super Bowl XXXI championship in 1996. From 1999-2008, Holmgren coached the Seahawks and led the team to Super Bowl XL where they lost to the Steelers.
Stay tuned Browns fans...

While I'm certainly not satisfied with what we have now, let's all remember that Holmgren was the guy who had his GM duties taken away from him in Seattle.
True, Holmgren was relieved of his GM duties, but in Seattle he was multitasking. Without going back and looking I have no idea how his draft picks panned out, but one would have to think that if he were solely focused on front office affairs he would do a much better job in Cleveland than in Seattle.
