In the words of a 10-year old girl, "OMG." It amazes me the Browns continue to find new and exciting ways to unravel each and every week. Entering the game, I thought the Browns were doing much better taking care of the ball. That all came undone. You aren't going to win many games when you turn the ball over five times.
Obviously, this will be addressed ad nauseum during the next two weeks, but why put Brady Quinn in at the end of the game when the game is out of reach? Eric Mangini is getting himself into a situation that has no good outcome. He needs to realize neither Quinn nor Derek Anderson is the answer to the Browns' offensive problems. I fully expect fans to continue to debate which quarterback is better, but realistically neither are in the team's plans for the future. Quinn and Anderson are simply having an extended tryout to see if they can land a back up job in 2010.
Onto what we watched.
I'm Angry, You're Angry....Who's Angrier?
In the past four games DA has pulled out this impressive stat line: 29 of 87 passing for 320 yards (80 yards per game and 33.3% completion percentage) with one touchdown and five interceptions. His four-game quarterback rating is 28.25. Like I said on Friday, Brooks Bollinger is available after his UFL commitment ends.
Daboll needs to open up the playbook and quit going with his old-school, four-play Tecmo Bowl system. By the way Mangini was looking at Daboll at the end of the game, it looks like Mangini and Daboll will soon be having a nasty conversation that I don't think will go Daboll's way.

PD article said Mangini was having a nasty, one-sided conversation with Dimbulb in the locker room. Could it be he is considering firing this butt-munch if he doesn't show some improvement?
The defense looked much better. If the offense could have even got a few first downs in the first half (by my count they didn't have one in the first half) and kept the D off the field, the Browns might have even had a chance. Fully agree that the offense has to be opened up. I've seen midget league games where they used more imaginative plays. Where are all the double reverses and other gadgets we saw in the preseason go? Did they try them (most were moderately to very successful) then make a note,
"This worked but other teams will prepare for it so we'd better not use it."
This team needs an identity. I love how the D harassed Cutler. I can't believe that Rogers got a roughing penalty though. He hit Cutler just after he released the ball, didn't hit him with his head or anything. Maybe because he landed on him and deflated him with his 350+ pounds they consider that roughing. If I'm Randy Lerner, if Rogers gets fined, I'd pick up the tab on that one.
Let's hope with two weeks to figure it out, Mangini makes some real changes and gets this team fired up. All want from them this year is to be competitive.
If I see the dive up the middle with the end-around fake that is never an end around again, I will be very, very upset.
the flattening of a QB by a d-lineman is now a penalty. oddly, other players (dbs) are not pelanized for this.
Not being able to watch the game for the sake of driving, what was the % of wildcat this time around? still unbearably low?
three things specificley that Anderson does not do well that will keep him from being successful in the NFL; 1. He always throws the short stuff short. The running back needs to catch the ball moving forward to keep his momentum going down field. 2.he cannot throw accuratly moving to his left. Several of his int.s have come when he was moving to his left. 3. Lack of pocket presance. There is no excuse for a 6' 6" QB to have so many batted balls. Twice on sunday he threw right into defenders outreached arms instead of moving or pump facking to creat a passing lane , and instead of throwing the ball away facing the blitz, he tries to run and loses more yardage. The 1st half of sundays game against the Bears was the worst I've ever seen, including Spergeon Wynn and Kevin Johnson
Dabol needs to have more guts, 2nd and short is the perfect time to take a shot down field. I'm sure that most of you reading this are aware of it so why is Dabol so reluctant? Then, backed up on our own goal line he waits for third down to throw the ball. 99% of the people watching that game knew the Bears would pin there ears back and bring the blitz on third down and D. A. would choke so why not try to throw on 1st or 2nd down. Several time on Sunday when running inside he brings Crbbs in motion to fake the end around and never used it once! late in the 3rd quarter on 3rd and short when everyone watching knew we were running inside would have been a perfect time to try it. the bears hstacked the line and stopped Lewis short of the 1st down. I counted at least 5 times they facked the end around. If you dont use it once in a while you may as well not bother with the fake!!!
